Abigail (Abbey) is a Registered Massage Therapist from the College of Massage Therapy BC . With an interest in physical fitness, biology, and verbal therapy, Abbey eventually came to the conclusion that massage therapy encompassed all of her passions, and is keen to build her practise working with those who want to develop a well-rounded approach to health and movement.

Treatments with Abbey start with a conversation about the client’s goals, lifestyle, and the concern at hand, coupled with necessary assessments to better understand the tissues being affected. Once a mutual agreement is established, techniques and applications used are a combination of Swedish massage, as well as neuromuscular and myofascial techniques, dynamic release and joint mobilizations to improve joint health.

Abbey intends to explore lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, and trauma language and care. Outside of the clinic Abbey keeps active by hiking, cycling, and working out at home, coupling yoga with weight training. She also spends time finding local parks to enjoy and the hidden gems of Vancouver, recommendations welcome.

JOEL WILL BE AWAY FROM JULY 1st - AUGUST 4th. RETURNING AUGUST 6th

Joel is a graduate from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy and grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan playing volleyball and hockey. He followed his passion and played competitive junior A hockey in the states for three years, where he captained his team in his last year. He personally has experienced how demanding sports are on the body and how important good maintenance and recovery is.

A treatment with Joel would consist of general Swedish techniques to warm up the tissue, myofascial techniques to open space in the tissues, deep targeted techniques to release tense muscles, specific stretching techniques to gain greater range of motion, and joint mobilizations to increase joint nutrition and the space within joints for more comfortable range of motion.

Away from the clinic some hobbies he enjoys are playing hockey, resistance training, walking around beautiful Vancouver with his wife and reading non-fiction books. He is excited to start his career as an RMT and to continue learning more about the body and to help his patients reach peak performance whatever that may be.
